Minimizing consumption of available resources and finding a solution optimized economically and ecologically across the entire system was a central theme when developing the CABERO ECOPAD. With the ECOPAD system, CABERO is aiming, in particular, to improve on and redefine the system benefits. The advantages of PAD systems are generally that the spray water does not come into contact with the heat exchanger, very little particulate matter is emitted into the air and the quality of the water used is relatively insignificant.
The decision about whether to use a hydrophobic or hydrophilic PAD structure is determined by the water quality and is matched to customer requirements on an individual basis. Hydrophobic PAD structures demonstrate significantly less efficient evaporative cooling than hydrophilic structures. However, they are more resistant to contamination and easier to clean.
